ABCmouse is designed to help young children (ages 2 – 8+) build a strong foundation for future academic success with more than 10,000 fun learning activities in reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music. More than 1,200 activities are offered in Spanish.
Lessons are tailored to specific ages and intended for children to learn important educational basics using a computer mouse, with virtual field trips to the zoo and farm, animated music videos, art activities, books, puzzles, and educational games. ABCmouse also features learning assessments and rewards, to measure your child’s progress and encourage learning.
ABCmouse can be accessed inside or outside of the library!
- When accessing ABCmouse from home, use your Burbank Public Library card and PIN to check out a home account for 30 days.
- Once your checkout period ends, you can check out ABCmouse for an additional 30 days depending on availability.
- If you are on a waiting list to renew, don’t worry! If you created a profile, your child’s profile and progress will be saved on your ABCmouse account.
Start here.
Create an ABCmouse profile with your library card number, PIN, and an email address.
- Fill in the ABCmouse Checkout form. (If you have questions, this Quick Guide for Parents will walk you through the checkout process.) Once completed, you won't have to do this again.
- Save your login information. You'll see a screen with your email and password. Save this information so that you can log in later.
- If there are no home accounts available, you will be asked if you want to be added to a waiting list, and you will receive an email when there is space.
- Build a profile for you and your child. You can watch a short, introductory video, and then you will be walked through a series of pages. These pages will allow you to create avatars for you and your child/children. You can add up to three children to your account.
- Assessment. At the end of set up, you will be given the choice of having your child take an assessment. This will help you to determine what your child needs to work on in ABCmouse. You will have an opportunity to do another assessment at the end of the four weeks to track progress.
- Start learning! When the assessment is complete, it will be time to play! Explore the various games, activities, and features of ABCmouse from the home dashboard.
After Your 4-Week Checkout
When your four weeks are up, you will have an opportunity to sign up for another four week check out if there are home accounts available. If not, you can get on the waiting list! Your child's profile and progress will be saved.

Please note that there are a limited number of ABCmouse checkouts available at one time. If no account is available, you will receive an email confirmation and will be directed to the Waiting List page. As accounts become available, you will receive an email notification and will then have five days to redeem the account for checkout.
