Burbank at 110 Digital Photo Contest - Rules

The City of Burbank will be marking 110 years since the incorporation date of July 8, 1911.   

Help us celebrate Burbank at 110 by entering the Library’s digital photo contest using the theme: “Burbank, My Hometown.” 

Twelve winning photos will be selected by the Friends of the Burbank Public Library. Those photos will be used to create a 2022 calendar. Winners will receive four copies of the calendar in a Library swag bag. Selected submissions may be added to Burbank In Focus, a digital library of historical Burbank images. 

Calendars will be available for purchase at Burbank Public Library locations while supplies last. 

 

Official Contest Rules  

An entry form must be completed for each submitted photo at www.burbanklibrary.org/burbank110. Entries not complying with all contest rules will be disqualified. 

Eligibility 

  1. Entries must be submitted between July 8 and August 31, 2021. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE. 

  1. An entry form must be completed for each submitted photo at www.burbanklibrary.org/burbank110. 

  1. Photos must be uploaded in jpg format at www.burbanklibrary.org/burbank110. No hard copies will be accepted. Uploaded files must be less than 8mb. If you have a larger file size or experience any problems uploading, please contact burbankpubliclibrary@burbankca.gov for assistance. 

  1. Entrants must be at least 13 years old or have a parent or guardian submit on their behalf. 

  1. Photo must be taken in the City of Burbank. 

  1. Photo must be high resolution and in landscape orientation. 

  1. Entries may be submitted by residents and non-residents. 

  1. Entrants may submit unlimited entries.   

  1. City of Burbank employees are eligible to participate. 
     

Ways to Enter 

Take a photo of what makes Burbank special to you and submit:  

  1. Visit www.burbanklibrary.org/burbank110 and complete the official entry form and upload your photo(s). 

Voting  

  1. Twelve winning photographs will be selected. 

  1. 12 months. 

  1. This activity will be judged and funded by the Friends of the Burbank Public Library.  

  1. Winners will be announced on the City of Burbank Facebook and Instagram pages and website in late September. 

  1. Winners will be notified when prizes may be claimed. Prizes are non-transferrable, unavailable for substitution, and not redeemable for credit or cash.   

By entering the contest, the entrant:  

  1. Grants the City of Burbank permission to use submitted photos and images for the purpose of publicizing and marketing City activities, including but not limited to Library promotion and/or publicity. 

  1. Understands that no compensation shall be given for the use of submitted photos and that these images shall become the sole property of the City of Burbank.  

  1. Represents that they have secured all rights to use of the photographs from the photographer and any persons shown in the photographs. 

The City of Burbank reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest, or to disqualify any individual it finds to be interfering with the operation of the contest or violating the official rules of this promotion in a disruptive manner.
