Guide to 3D Design & Printing
3D printing is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model. Our 3D Printer and software applications available in the Spark! Digital Media Lab can be used to learn the basics of 3D design and printing.
In the Lab
Equipment
- 1 Dremel 3D Printer
- PLA & ECO-ABS filament
Software
- Blender: a 3D computer graphics software toolset
- Tinkercad: a web-based 3D modeling program, known for its ease of use
The lab is outfitted with 4 Mac and 4 PC desktops. Most software is available on all desktops.
