UPDATE YOUR JOB SKILLS
- Take a certified typing test. For employment opportunities that require a minimum typing speed, you can take an in-person 5-minute typing test at any Library location. The fee for certification is $5. To get started, visit the Information Services Desk to request an access code, which allows you to try five times on a Library computer. Print the best results (free) and show ID matching the name on the test, along with your payment, for certification. Testing instructions are available.

- LinkedIn Learning offer professional certification courses and career pathways to build the skills needed for in-demand jobs. Gain access with your Library card and elevate your career.

- LinkedIn Learning offers the latest in resume courses and videos to help you build the perfect resume.
- Looking for ready-made templates? With Microsoft Word (available on the Library public computers), you can find many templates for resumes and cover letters. From within Word, select File, New from the top left menu and type “resume” in the search field.
ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
- The Spark! Digital Media Lab is located at the Burbank Central Library and provides access to specialized equipment used in the media industry, along with opportunities to learn from experts, practice skills and build portfolios in areas including audio and video production, animation and 3D design.
- The Entertainment Industry Magazine Archive contains archives of trade publications for film, music, broadcasting and theater through the year 2000.
